Kamloops Long Blades offers several ways to try short track speed skating before you join.

Kamloops Long Blades provides various opportunities for individuals to experience short track speed skating before committing to joining the club. All sessions take place at McArthur Island on the Olympic Ice.

1. TRY IT: a onetime opportunity

• Experience short track skating with the use of club short track skates and necessary equipment.
• Sessions are available on Mondays from 6:15 to 7:15 pm or Thursdays from 6 to 7 pm.
• Prior registration is required. Please register in advance by selecting “Participant” at the following link: TRY IT Registration

2. FAST TRACK to SHORT TRACK:

• The upcoming FAST TRACK to SHORT TRACK sessions commence shortly after the holidays.
• Six introductory sessions includes an evening of timed racing are offered at a cost of $75, inclusive of club short track skates and other necessary equipment.

• Choose from the following sessions:

  • Fast Track Session #5 (Mondays 6:15 to 7:15 pm): Jan 8 to Feb 12, with timed races on the 12th.
  • Fast Track Session #6 (Thursdays 6-7 pm): Jan 11 to Feb 15, with timed races on the 15th.
